Esteem built upon “being right”

Esteem that is built upon the feeling of being in the right, of being correct is a particularly insidious type of Pseudo-esteem. It is an illusion brought about by intellectual and moral insecurity within oneself that seeks the security of being correct.

Turning ideas into camps of right or wrong allows for a black-and-white painting of the world, it allows for other-ing in order to place the individual into the right camp and judge where others stand.
